Mahabharata episode 45

Vaishampayana said: "Having bowed down to the Guru of mind, intellect, and samadhi, and having paid homage to all the wise men and sages present here, I will fully relate everything I have heard from the great sage Vyasa, the one who is renowned throughout the world, the one who is of great brilliance and brilliance.

king! I am very excited to tell this to you, who are worthy of hearing this story of mahabharata, with the orders and encouragement of the Guru.

King! Hear how the division arose among the Kurupandavas and how they were exiled for the sake of the kingdom.

Bharatarshabha! As you have asked, I will tell you how the world-destroying war took place. After the death of their father, the heroes returned to the palace from the forest and in a short time became scholars of the Vedas and archery. The Kauravas became jealous of the Pandavas, who were handsome, wealthy, and civilized.

The cruel Duryodhana, along with Karna and Saubala, devised various plans to subdue and exile them. The sinful sons of Dhritarashtra gave poison to Bhima, but the brave Vrikodara digested it and endured it.They had tied Bhima, who was sleeping in the temple again, threw him into the waters of the Ganga, and went to their place. Maharaja! Awakening, the mighty Bhimasena tore the rope, rose from the water, and dispelled his sorrow.

Even though all his body parts were bitten by extremely poisonous black snakes while he was asleep, that bhima did not die.

Whenever they were in trouble, Mahamati Vidura would wish them well and make plans to save them. Just as Indra brings happiness to the living worlds in heaven, Vidura always wished for the happiness of the Pandavas. The Kauravas were unable to kill him, even through various secret or external means, as he was protected by divine power. Then the ministers Vrisha (Karna), Dushasana and others consulted and, having obtained the permission of Dhritarashtra, ordered the construction of a Jatugraha. Amitaujasa arranged for the Pandavas to live there and, so that they would not have the slightest suspicion, they set fire to the house again and burned it down.

As per Vidura's words, a valley was dug there and with its help, they were fortunately freed from that fear. Later, in that great forest, the mighty Bhima, the angry Bhimasena, killed a fierce demon named Hidimba.

The heroes of Parantapa, as agreed by all, went to the city of Ekachakra, took the form of Brahmins, and stayed with their mother. There, for the sake of that Brahmin, he killed Mahabala Baka and went to the city of Panchala with the Brahmins. There he married Draupadi and lived there for a year. After learning their identity, the Pandavas returned to Hastinapur.

There, King Dhritarashtra and Shantanu Bhishma told them: "Children! We have decided that Khandavaprastha should be yours so that there will be no division between you and your brothers."

Therefore, abandoning all past jealousies, live in Khandavaprastha, which is full of many great paths of the Janapadas."

As per this vow, they went to the city of Khandavaprastha, accompanied by all the nobles, with many jewels. King! They lived there for many years and conquered other Mahikshitas with their military prowess. In this way, that Satyavrataparayanas, who were following the righteousness, did not get angry, but calmly crushed the grievances and ruled the kingdom.

The mighty Bhimasena conquered the western direction. The brave Arjuna conquered the northern direction, Nakula the western direction, and Sahadeva the southern direction. Those great heroes conquered everything in this beautiful world.

The sun and the five Pandavas, together, seemed to have six Satyavikram suns on the earth. Then, for some reason, Dharmaraja Yudhishthira had to send his brother Dhananjaya to the forest.

After staying in the forest for a year and a month, he went to Hrishikesh and from there he also went to Dwaravati. There, he married the younger sister of Vaasudeva, Subhadra. Just as Shachi was with Mahendra and Sri was with Krishna, Subhadra was happy to be with the Pandava Arjuna. O king! Then Kaunteya Bibhatsu arjuna, along with Vaasudeva, presented Khandava to Haviyavahana and satisfied him. With Kesava's help, Partha did not find this task too difficult, because killing enemies is not a great task for Vishnu.

Lord Agni gave Partha a fine Gandiva bow, a quiver of inexhaustible arrows, and a Kapilakshana chariot. At that time, Bibhatsu saved the great demon Maya and he created a divine assembly containing all the jewels.

The foolish and wicked Duryodhana wanted to get it. With the help of Saubala, he defeated Yudhishthira and forced him to go to the forest for a total of thirteen years - twelve years in the forest and one year in hiding in some country.

Maharaja! In the fourteenth year, when their property was not returned even after they asked for it, war broke out. Then the Pandavas killed Duryodhana and took back the kingdom. "The discord that took place among those evildoers in the past, the destruction of the kingdom, and the victory of the greatest of victors."

This is the fifty-fifth chapter of the Bharata Sutra in the Adi Parva of the Mahabharata, in the Anshavatarana Parva.
