15. Garuda leaving the bramhin.

Suta said: “Then Mahavira, Mahabala, that bird who can go at will came to the mother on the other side of the ocean. There, Vinatha lost the bet and became a slave, and was very sad. Then once Kadru called Vinatha and said to her who was bowing before her son: “Bhadre Vinate! Take me to the solitude of the temple of Nagas, which is very beautiful located at the bottom of the sea.”

Then the mother of Suparna left with the mother of serpents and Garuda carrying the Pannagas on the shoulders as the mother said. As that Vihangama Vainateya ascended towards the sun, all the pannagas were struck by the rays of the sun. Seeing the plight of the children, Kadru praised Shakra Indra:

“Save the snakes from the scorching sun by raining. Amarottama! You alone are our greatest strength. Purandara! You are the lord of rain and you can make it rain as much as you want. You are the cloud, you are the air, and you are the lightning that shines in amber. You are the one who disperses the clouds and you are the one who gathers the clouds together.

You are the clouds that roar loudly. You are the creator and destroyer of the worlds. You are invincible. You are the light in all things. And you are Aditya, Vibhavasu. You are a great wonder and wonder. You are King, You are Surottama, You are Vishnu, You are Sahasraksha, You are God and You are Parayana. God! Your everything is nectar.

You are Paramarchita Soma. Muhurta, tithi, lava and moment are all You. You are Shukla too, you are Bahula too. You are also time, hardship and mistakes. You are the year, the month, the night and the day. You are also the best Vasundhara full of birds. You are also the amber of Bhaskara who dispels darkness. You are also the great sea, the abode of great whales, makaras and other such creatures.

You are the great success who is always worshiped by Mudita Manaska Manishi Maharishis. You are the first one who consumes the desire of the soma given by vashatkarana in advaras. You are the one who constantly prays from the beneficent Vipra. Very strong! You are glorified in the Vedangas and Dwijendra recites all the Vedic Vedangas to realize you.” Suta said: “Thus glorified by Kadru, Lord Harivahana filled the sky with dark clouds.

The clouds hit each other continuously in the sky, lighting up with lightning and thundering to command “rain”.

As if they were fighting, Sumahadbhuta poured immense water as rain. Amber seemed to be dancing madly as the rain was showered by multiple lightning bolts. As Vasava rained, the Nagas became very happy and Mahi too was filled with cold pure water.”

Suta said: “The nagas, led by Suparna, crossed the waters of the ocean and happily reached that island with the bird. It was filled with vanarasis carrying exotic fruits and flowers and beautiful Bhavan had Padmakaras.

It was adorned with beautiful lakes filled with pleasant waters and enlivened by the pious winds that breathed divyagandha. Born in Malaya, the wind blew flowers from the beautiful trees that kissed the sky.

The trees there seemed to be showering the flowers like water. Pleasant to the mind, virtuous, dear to the Gandharva nymphs, resounding with the sounds of various birds, that region delighted the sons of Kadru. The nagas belonging to that forest became very angry and Patagotama said to Mahavira Suparna:

“Take us to the beautiful island of even more abundant water. You must have seen many beautiful places while flying in the sky.”

After thinking for a while, the bird heard the mother cry: “Mother! Why should I do all the things these serpents told me to do?” Vinatha said: “Pathagottama! By the deceit of the serpents I lost the stake and became the slave of my sister, the second wife of my husband.”

Suta said: “Gaganechara, knowing the reason from the mother, said to the serpents in grief: “Serpents! Tell us what we can bring, or what we can teach, or what manly work we can do to be freed from this bondage.” Hearing what he said, the snakes said, “Khechara! Use force to take the nectar. Then you will be freed from slavery.

Suta said: “Garuda said to his mother “I am going to bring amrita. I want to eat something now. Tell me what to eat.” Vinatha said:

“Under Samudrakuksha there is a good Nishadala. Eat thousands of them and take nectar. But never do you kill a Brahmin. Brahman is indispensable in all things. He is like fire. Kupita Vipra is equivalent to fire, sun, poison or a sharp weapon. Vipra is supreme among all beings. His position as Father and Guru is great.”

Garuda said: “Mother! Tell how one can identify a Brahmin. What are their auspicious qualities?”

Vinatha said: “Son! Know that he who torments like a hook used for catching fish or burns like a hot ember is a Brahmin.” Suta said: “Knowing her son's inexhaustible sperm, Vinatha graciously blessed him with these words:

“Bird! May the winds protect your wings. May the moon protect your back. May Agni protect your head and Bhaskara protect your whole. Son! I am also always waiting for your way as Shantisvastiparayana. May your work be fulfilled.”

Hearing the speech, he spread both his wings and looked up. Suffering from hunger, the strongman attacked Nishadara as if for a long time.

In an effort to exterminate the Nishads, he raised a great dust storm in the sky, which sucked water from the bottom of the sea and shook the trees growing on the nearby mountains.

Then the king of birds put his wide mouth in Nisha's path and prevented it; The Nishads were drawn together towards the mouth of that Bhujangabhojini.

They besieged him with wide mouths, like frightened birds flying to the sky. Lured by the clouds of dust stirred up by the wind, they came in thousands to his mouth like birds driven by the wind. Then the great sacrificial bird of Shatrutapana, who had opened his mouth wide due to hunger, closed his mouth.”

The Suta said: “A brahmin without a wife had his throat burning like a raging fire was screaming from inside for which the garuda said :”The best! I will open my mouth for you. Come out immediately. I will not kill any Brahmin, even if he is always engaged in sinful activities.”

When Garuda said this, the Brahmin also said: "Let my wife Nishadi come out with me."

Garuda said: “Take Nishadi with you and leave immediately. You who have not yet been digested by my brilliance save your lives without delay.”

The Suta said: “Then that Vipra came out with the Nishadi and after giving thanks to Garuda went to his own region. As soon as Vipra came out with his wife, the king of birds in a moment spread his wings and soared into the sky in a frenzy.

Seeing him on the way, his father said to question: “I, sent by the serpents, am going to fetch Soma. By bringing it today I will free my mother from slavery. Mother told to eat Nishadar. Even though I ate them in thousands of numbers, I was not satisfied. Lord! Lord! Show me some other food to be able to stir and bring amrita.”

Kasyapa said: “Once upon a time there was an angry sage named Vibhavasu. He had a son called Mahatapasvi Suprathika.

Mahamuni Supratika did not want to keep the money in his brother and always asked for its division. Then Vibhavasu said to his Suprathika: “Many people always want to do partition out of passion. But after the split, being greedy, they ignore each other. Knowing that they are different, selfish enemies come as allies and create an even bigger rift in them for the sake of the same money. Knowing that he is still far away, others cause his downfall. Thus separated brethren will soon perish. Therefore, scholars committed to the Guru Shastras do not accept the division of meaning between those who love each other.

But great! It is becoming difficult to control you who want to divide the money. So you become an elephant.”

Thus cursed, Supratika told Vibhavasu: "You too will become a turtle moving in the water."

In this way, for the sake of wealth, both Mudhchetasa Suprathika and Vibhavasu took the forms of Gaja-Kachchapa, who cursed their neighbors.

Despite being born in lowly ranks due to anger, both of them, gifted with their oath and strength, have achieved enmity with each other.

Those two giants continue their former rivalry in this lake. Look! That beautiful giant is coming to the water. At the sound of his cry, the giant turtle in the water rose up, churning the lake. Seeing him, the heroic elephant entered the water with its tusks, trunk, and tail curled up.

It is stirring up a lake full of fish. Even the brave tortoise raises its head and comes forward for battle.

Its height is six Yojanas and its circumference is twice that. The tortoise is also three yojana in height and twice its breadth. Continue your work by devouring both of them, who have ceased to fight in this way, determined to kill each other.

The Suta said: “Hearing the words of the father, that antriksha caught the elephant with one claw and the tortoise with the other at Bhimavega.

Seeing those trees that gave the desired fruits trembling in fear, Khechara flew towards other trees that did not match in form. Those Mahadhrumas, with their bronze-silver fruit and turquoise branches, were washed by the waves of the ocean and shone.

A Rohinapapada, which had grown wide there, said to that celestial greatness, "Land on these great branches of mine, which have an area of a hundred yojanas, and eat those elephants and tortoises!" said that.

As Kagottama lowered his speed and landed slowly, the mountain-like tree with thousands of birds tottered, and the branch with its thick leaves broke off.”
